The Collaborative Approach to Better Mental Health

What to Expect

Your well-being is our primary concern. We are aware that care received in the current healthcare system can be quite fragmented. From our perspective, collaboration among providers is critical for your over-all mental and physical health. At Altasano, we encourage  collaboration with your mental health providers, be that your primary physician, psychiatrist, psychiatric nurse practitioner or therapist. Because studies show that the best results come from the combination of treatments and therapy, we are following evidence based practice and highly recommend that you work with a trusted therapist throughout treatment. We have a referral network of many therapists in the area, but currently do not have staff therapists within the practice. If you are currently not in therapy, we can refer you to a local therapist or guide you to online resources.

Due to the nature of the practice, most appointments are in person. Many follow-up appointments for lab work results, etc. are conducted either by phone or telehealth meeting.  Initial telehealth consults can provide essential information and allow for all questions to be addressed, however a physical assessment is part of an initial evaluation thus will require an in-office appointment as well.

At this time, we are out-of-network with all insurance plans in order to provide the quality and type of care that we can stand behind. With that said, we are advocating for increased health insurance coverage for mental health and wellness care at every opportunity. We provide a “superbill” for out-of-network reimbursement for covered services. Additionally, our technology partner, Osmind, can submit the superbills on your behalf, if you prefer.

We accept all major credit cards, HSA/FSA cards, cash, Care Credit and Advance Care credit payments.

We recognize that it can be frustrating trying to reach a provider through automated services during a crisis. Accessing emergency services and psychiatric hospitalization, while life-saving, can also be trauma-inducing.  Because of this, we have made it a priority to be available by phone, text or secure messaging to address issues that need urgent assessment and intervention. We offer a level of access to personalized care that is not found in conventional health care.

Though we strongly believe that a fully integrative approach offers the best outcomes, care plan decisions are individualized and based on the current situation and the treatment goals.
